Can't believe it's been twelve years already. Today is my birthday so I'll never forget. Keeping up with my tradition I've had Pantera and Damageplan playing all day with some Rebel Meets Rebel planned for the afternoon. I revisited the whole thing more in depth in recent months than I had previously and found quite a bit of information I hadn't seen before. It's easy to critique in hindsight but there sure were alot of poor decisions made and missed opportunities to stop it or slow the asshole down. I didn't realize either until recently that Niggemeyer had to quit the police force and is still struggling with what he had to do.
Raise a glass or a pointy guitar today!
Dimes favorite the "Black tooth grin" drink..I knew Dime when he was 13 and just started getting going, and I was living in Ft,Worth Texas at the time, and he and Vinnie lived in Arlington,Tx,about 15 minutes from our house..Dime and Vinnie and Pantera overall were some of the best guys you could or will ever meet, they were friendly with everybody and loved to jam and party! When they did the local scene we always went to see them and we would have drinks with Dime and crew, hell and everybody!! I miss him too,I knew him personally before most people even knew about him or Pantera..I appreciate what you are doing to celebrate him,I would come do it with you if I knew where you were! his grave is in Arlington and I have visited it many many times,it always made me feel good after visiting his grave seeing all the items people would place on it,and all the letters and flowers all us rockers would leave for him! Long Live Dimebag Darrell Abbott! RIP BROTHER! And Happy Birth day to you as well OP!!
