Hi Dave,
Have just seen the Premier Guitar demo of your Dirty Shirley and am seriously addicted. Was about to pull trigger on modded Jet City but think I'm gonna hold out for this as a 40th Birthday treat to myself. Would be grateful for more info, spec, price and if UK (240 v)version will be an option ?

Cheers , John

I haven't heard the price on the DS yet, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a bit more than the JS.

Hi LP Freak,
Yeah.....I know there will be a big gap in price compared to the Jet City , but as I'm only gonna buy one amp it may as well be the best and worth waiting and saving for.

Cheers , J

In that case go for it! I can gaurantee the DS is in a whole different class.

Thanks for the reassuring guarantee LP Freak, as someone who has experience with Dave Friedmans creations , your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Cheers , J

That was a great sounding amp, a pedal or two and you'd have it all going on, IMO (not that I know sh*t!).

Jim, it's OK to say SHIT around here. We're all big boys.

The Dirty Shirley will sell for 2400.00. We r gonna do some recording with it on mon at Lugos place. We will try and get a bunch of different sounds on tape

The amp looks and sounds very cool from the clip on YT!

Will there be a 2 Gains / 2 Masters switchable option for the DS like on the Marsha?

Hi Rob,
Will there be a UK 240V version available and what would shipping to UK roughly be ?

Thanks in advance, John

Hey Rob, when will the amp be available?

Just came from TM, played the Shirley. Great amp, it just sounds right, I'm recording and filming it on Monday I will have video and clips Monday night.

No loop,no options. What you get is presence, bass, mid, treb, master and gain. It cleans up great with the vol knob on the guitar. The amp is going to be 2400.00 and is available now. There is still a 3 month wait though. Tolex is optional for a small up charge. The front of the amp will have basket weave cloth. Yes you can get it in 240 volt.

Thanks Dave,
That's great - will get in touch with Tone Merchants once funds in place. Just to confirm that head comes in a "naked" finish with baketweave grill as standard ? Would have requested those options if not already offered.

Cheers, John

In that youtube vid it becomes quite a bit darker when the gain goes up.

Can't wait to hear Jame's clips!

That's my Major Crunch amp. Specs/pics here, but it's basically a Tweed vol/tone channel with a modified Fender TMB channel which has a tone stack bypass I call the "Nuke" mode, all accessible from a footswitch w/LED's (true bypass).

http://www.southbayampworks.com/amps.html

This is from July 2008 with Billy Yates plugging straight in, no pedals, using two H75 30w speakers. He kicks in the NUKE mode at the very end of the song (wait for him to tap it with his foot).

I've got 10 amps worth of parts sitting in storage, and three circuit boards wired up. When my personal life took a shit in 2008 (dog died, best friend died, stepdad and my Mom died) I lost momentum on building them, especially since the speaker & cab business seemed to take off around then.
