Anyone have experience with these? I've been wanting a tremolo pedal lately, but didn't want to pay $150 for a good one, so I grabbed a basic kit from Mammoth Electronics and assembled it. It worked! It was pretty painless and now I have a good sounding pedal I made myself. I'm looking forward to making more of these.

I'm building a Demeter Tremulator/Supa Trem based tremolo now. I've been building wahs for quite some time as well.

What is the wah based on ?
It’s based on an early Vox Clyde McCoy. The tone is killer and works great with clean and dirty sounds. I built a few and I sold a couple here and on TGP and got great reviews on my spec.

Is that wah a kit?
No I etch the boards myself and source out my own parts.
Dude, very cool! That's the REAL DIY.
I'm not there yet...one day.

I started building in 2003, back then it was special, like cheating or something, building better thn stock for less $.

I have done BYOC kits. They are a lot of fun. I usually find the painting and labeling to be the biggest pain of the process.

I have never heard of Mammoth before. I might have to check them out.....

I have considered getting into Veroboard layouts. There are tons of layouts out there for pedals that arent offered as kits.

Mammoth has a few of their own kits, but they also supply full kits from a few other companies like Arcadia Electronics. That's where the pre-printed board and component kit I did was from. Mammoth adds the option of painted (or non-painted) enclosures and knob options. Very cool for a first timer.

I have one of these wah pedals. It is awesome.

I've done a few over the years but have fallen out since having a couple of kids and a bit more of a time involving job. I've acquired a lot of parts over the years. I've never actually tried a full kit though. Always sourced everything myself.

Here are a couple of my last ones. Photobucket is blocking the rest.

I do everything in Photoshop. Then print to a clear waterslide. I think of a theme then usually look for an image to work around. Then try to be creative with fonts, placement, colors, knobs etc. This one was my first attempt with a metallic type of paint. I think it came out pretty well. The clipping knob is a sub-board (inside) that gives you 4 different clipping options.

I can post more if anyone wants to see them. I'm in no way trying to hijack the tread though.
