I bought a used San Dimas and with an upgraded Floyd (made in Germany Schaller) Yaayyyy!!!

The nut is shorter than my other Charvels and has a lot of shimming. Boooo!!!

I'll probably just buy the correct nut instead of leaving all the shims. I just wanted to make sure I buy the correct nut.

Thanks!

Yeah, they use an R3. Odds are the person put an R2 on it which is shorter and narrower.

Save the shims. A lot of times the USA San Dimas Charvels that originally came with Ping Floyd nuts need shims when switching to the German nut.

Not sure about the R2. It looks like the same width but definitely shorter.

Thanks for the help.

Definitely. I traced one of the metal shims and made a bunch out of 1200 grit sandpaper.
