Is it fact, or myth? Do the latest/current versions have more gain than earlier models?

Yep - count me in - I wanna know, too.
And if so, how do you know (prior to buying) if it's the newer version or not? Is there a serial number or manufacture date to look for?

I believe Dave has mentioned they have more gain on the newer models. Don't quote me but I am pretty sure they've "upped the ante"

Not really. The voicing has changed a bit. Tad warmer and thicker.

Hello Dave,
In one of your posts here you mentions a Sat switch mod for the Runt 50.
Can you elaborate a little on this mod and how one can go about having it done, cost, turnaround etc.
The R50 seems like a perfect amp for me; size and weight too and a gain boost would make it even
more versatile. Any downsides to this mod ?

Really love ur work mate!
Rock on!

Interesting - Dave, can you share when these tweaks began in production?

In most of our amps we have been eliminating silver mica caps in spots that they fail.. Finally found a good replacement. Silver mica caps are unpredictable. other then that I adjusted the effects loop levels a bit to be less sensitive to picking up noise from the loop cables. Over all the amp is a tad sweeter on top. So not to much really.
