Do mono tube power amps exist?

Coincidentally, atomic amplification has just released a 50W mono tube power amp, which is the power section of an atomic reactor FR (usually used with the axefx), just packaged in a nice compact headshell.

just bridge your power amp, it's mono and more power that way

That looks perfect!

I'm just wondering if the fact that it is full range response will make it sound any different with just the preamp from my Einstein feeding it?

Will I have any problems since its not guitar amp voiced or will it just reproduce whatever I pump into it accurately?

The power amp is a big part of the voice of a lot of amps .... you may get better results from the line out.

Use compensated out to go into a solid state power amp into your cab. That should get you the best results, as you'll get the feel of your Einstein's power amp.

Yes the new Atomic mono bloc is crazy good. It delivers tons of tone in a small compact package.

but the atomic IS a power amp albeit a different one and I want to achieve a different tone than the dry side. Im looking for two sounds to compliment each other, not a mirror image.

The XLR balanced input of the atomic has me sold on it also.

I don't want solid state anymore, going tube.

The compensated line out has a speaker simulation EQ curve, is it ok to use that before a real speaker? actually given that I wont be using a full range speaker does it matter at all?

Im also considering the Suhr ISO line out box from the speaker out of the head into the atomic as another option.

thanks for the offer but the truth is if I can use the atomic that is what I will be getting, the tiny form factor has me sold on it, I don't want to go rack if I don't have too.

Can someone answer this question for me:

does running the full range power amp as a regular guitar power amp through a typical guitar speaker limit the amps frequency response to be like any other guitar power amp?

Some guitar poweramps, such as marshalls, do color quite a lot. But more modern poweramps like a Fryette/VHT or even Mesas are quite neutral and let the preamp show its flavor. On top of that, the Atomic even has a presence control to tame the high end. I think it can work OK for what you want to do, but of course YMMV. You can always use an eq between the preamp and the poweramp to further tweak it Mesa Mark-style.

I had not thought of the EQ! thanks! as I want to use it for my wet side I could use the eq in the fx processor to tailor the sound.

I have also seen Peter Diezel as quoted saying that an amp should have it sonic capabilities complete at the preamp stage.

other than distorting the power amp i suspect the coloring is fairly neutral as you were saying about the others.
