Do you stick with one brand pickup?

I mix it up, but i'm pretty particular on the brands I like (and dislike)

Part of the fun for me is trying different pickups in a guitar.

I have so many guitars now it’s kinda fun to go back and pull something out of storage and swap in new pickups.

Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio, Tom Anderson, PRS, Bareknuckle, EMG, Fishman and Caparison are all in various guitars at the moment...guess I'm a pickup slut.

I think RedPlated is right, it’s all about matching the right pickups to the right guitar.

Most of my pickups have circulated though a bunch of guitars before finding where they fit best, and I still have some nice fancy pickups in boxes in the closet since they haven’t been right (or at least not as good as something else) in any of my guitars.

That being said my two most played guitars for the last 3 years both have Lundgrens so maybe I do currently have a ‘type’.

I will echo the notion that it comes down to the guitar. Though my favorite brands are Bare Knuckle and Fishman Fluence.

I use different pick ups and even play an 8 string and 6 . The pick ups are so diffent on these guitars

I mix it up, but if I'm truly undecided I default to Duncan.

In my fiddles right now I've got the following:

- EMG 81/85 (two guitars)
- Duncan APH-1/APH-2
- Duncan Distortion/Custom Strat/Custom Stack
- Jalen Origin
- Vineham Triple D set
- EMG 81 single
- Duncan AHB1/AHB2
- Lace Sensor Hot Gold set
- EVH Wolfgang set
- Stock Gibson P90 (about to be replaced by a Jaydee Old Boy)

Mix it up -- too many good flavors out there. Right now I have installed in various guitars

Seymour Duncan
Rocketfire
Klein
Pariah
Gibson
Bare Knuckle
Fender
EVH
Bill Lawrence
K-line
