Do you think certain guitars sound more "right" in certain tunings?

I am about to setup some guitars for different tunings and realized over the years I have had certain guitars that just sounded better in certain tunings than in others. Regardless of scale length or string gauge, sometimes I get ones that just sound better in a drop d flat or a drop c than if they were setup in standard. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this or if I am just crazy.

Or "Right" now...?
Hahahahaha. Just that some sound more correct and better in certain tunings. I’ve had Les Paul’s that sound awesome in drop c but somehow just not naturally as good in standard for example.

Yes but many guitars can be made to work better in otherwise unfriendly tunings with pickup and hardware swaps.

Absolutely.
Brighter guitars in lower tunings is always a starting point.
They all have their own voice

I've come to this conclusion myself. I no longer try to force a tuning on a guitar. I let them tell me what they like. I only have 9 or 10 guitars and only play in 3 tunings so there's plenty to go around.

I do think so, but I only play any large amount of stuff in E or Eb standard so if a guitar doesn't sound good in those tuning I'm unlikely to own it or not for long.

Bright Guitar = Lower Tuning
Warm Guitar = Standard Tuning
Guitar that's warm, but I want it clear in lower tunings gets EMGs

Yes, all my guitars exhibit different responses to different tunings and string gouges. There are a couple that sound good no matter what tuning or string gauge, but those are the exceptions IMO...
