Does it get dominated by the higher sensitivity ratings of other speakers??

interesting.

I've never considered that
That's essentially what the Scumback H/M75 mixture is based on, and that seems to be a great pair.

My cab with the combo...I got to get rid of this Q3..I'm making myself sick with all my vids. LOL! Anyways this combo rocks! All kinds if mids!

yep they do sound great with Scumback M75's and really broken in V30's.

After listening to your clip with the Black Shadows and then this one, I think they both have tonal advantages. The BS's are thick and rich and seem to stay together very well, while the GB/H30 mix has nice mids and sizzle, but sounds a little raspy compared to the BS's.
I think a mix of the Shadows or CL80's and some higher powered H30 copies would be the way to go for me.
Thanks for all the clips!

everything I've read says it does NOT mix well
the sensitivity ratings have to match

If they didnt match, the lower speaker would still be heard, just a little lower than the dominant one. It would for sure be IDEAL that they match, but the only thing that really NEEDS to match are the Ohms.

Correct
doesn't need to match, but the greenback will be a bit less loud
most say it will get lost and the g12h will be the main tone you hear

Less dominant but there none the less...still has a huge influence on the final outcome. Something doesn't have to be as loud in the mix to really infuence it. What are we talking about here...a couple db's?

db's or... Double D's which have been proven highly influential!

I love double D's!

this is notion that the sensitivity plays the dominate role is just wrong. that spec is just a test tube measurement. a Greenback even with a lower overall output, based on its frequency response, may actually have more output at certain frequencies than other "louder" speaker.

I've mixed Greenbacks with a ton of different speakers and usually keep several cabs with them mixed.

OP, try it and make your own determination.

i use a GB and V30 in a 2x12 combo.
the volume diffrence is only noticable when you put you ear up against the cab grill.

standing a few feet back its not lop sided or extremely noticable at all.

I'm curious how GB's will mix with G12T-75's, which are 97 db's.
