Here's a real challenge for those of you using midi.....

I have a Rocktron Midi Mate that I power using the 7 pin midi cable. I would like to be able to run the 7 pin cable from my rack, into a small midi splitter on my pedalboard, and then out to (a) my Midi Mate (including the power to the pedal) and (b) an Eventide Timefactor.

Is there in fact a splitter available on the market that will accept a 7 pin input with live power in it, split the midi into (atleast) 2 outputs of which 1 output is still 7 pin and still carrying the power?

I would be surprised, but surprise me with your product knowledge!

The easiest way is DIY.

Get an aluminum (Hammond) box (for pedals) and three jacks. Look for "DIN" jacks.

The wiring isn't rocket science, power is two pins (sometimes with two more in parallel), midi is two pins.

--> Mouser

I think I'm going to have to make my own MIDI switcher box so I can change all the functions on my MarkIV, while not taking up heaps of space. I'm not sure how to do it though so multiple functions can be switched simultaneously.

BUMP.

I would prefer to purchase a commercially available unit vs. trying to build my own, as that would only result in frustration and, ultimately, end in disaster.....

Anybody know of such a product?
