I don't hear much about Brian Moore Guitars. A small handfull of comments I have heard have been positive, they look killer to me, and I love the synth access. Wonder why there aren't more talk about these guys. any thoughts?

MC-1 = Awesome, USA made instrument that should have competed with the Fly Deluxe

everything else from Brian Moore = Korean, overpriced, lacks features that made MC-1 unique.

I have an original brochure from when they only made the MC-1. It was like $3800, all composite with exotic wood tops. Any pickups you wanted, various bridge options. Sweet guitars.

I have two, a c90p and an i9p
both with hsh config, piezo in the bridge, and are the best playing strats I own.

yeah, I think those are killer looking guitars man.

I had an i8p...at least I think that was the model name. It sounded incredibly dull and played average at best. Wasn't impressed at all.

What about the IM? There's one at my local musicgoround that's been there a long, long time. Looks amazing, but never bothered to try it out. Opinions on those??

No you don't hear very much about these guitars, but the custom chop stuff is awesome. Never tried the import stuff though. It's funny this thread came up because I'm selling one of my MC/1's right now item# 200320872644 . The MC/1 definately should've competed with Parker Fly, but the non-compete lawsuit from gibson and $10000 list price on the MC/1 made that impossible. I have a C/90(kind of an all wood version of the MC/1) that's pretty cool to, but the MC/1 is what the company will be remembered for IMO.

The i1 I had was really pretty and played great (as nice as any strat I have played), but I have to agree with Mark, sounded very dull and almost cheap.

have to say, most of the i9's I played did not play as nicely as mine, but I have never had any issues with the two I have. for a bolt on guitar I would put these two against any others out there in their price range. The prices on the american made ones seem to be holding up in the 1200 to 1600 range, but the koreans have come down a hell of a lot!

Yeah the MC-1 is a great guitar, the odds were stacked though with the price and Gibson throwing a suit at them.

Brian Moore did win the case against Gibson.
It's too bad they don't make this guitar anymore, it is a cutting edge design. You should see the mold for the MC1, it had all these hoses going into a large massive block. It looked like the thing Hans Solo was frozen in

Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike, since you've seen these guitars being built, I have a question for you. Do you know how the truss rod works in the MC/1? Is a metal bar or some kind of carbon fiber, I've read both. I was told the bolt at the base of the neck on the back of the guitar is the adjustment. This bolt is tight and won't get any tighter. I've tried e-mail's and phone calls to BM but they haven't really been clear how it works. I think after the move most of the people involved in building and servicing these guitars have moved on. Any help you could give would be awesome, or maybe you still know some of the guys from the shop. Again any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave

Hey Dave,
It's a metal based truss rod. My green MC-1 no problems adjusting that bolt. My blue MC-1 was another story. It felt like it was going to break, but it moved.

Well, BMG had somethings go down with Behringer's iAXE guitars and BMG iGuitars...I'm sure you can fill in the rest ;) I only know Pat Cummings, the president of BMG. The best thing is to just call him directly at 845-809-5347.
Cheers,
Mike

Mike I really appreciate you taking some time to try and help me. I've tried that number and left a message no call back yet. I pulled that bolt out and it's 7/8" long but the hole is 1 5/16'' 7/16" to short to make contact, is there a missing spacer? is the bolt to short? Got the guitar used so who knows. quote="FortinAmps"]

No problem. I never took that bolt out, just loosened it so the neck would give. I could take a better pic of the bolts on my guitars and email them to you.
Let me know,
Mike

Thanks, but for fear of making things worse I'm going to send the guitar back to BMG. Thanks for all the help, your awesome. Dave

Never played an MC/1, but I had a DC/1 that I loved. I have a long list of guitars that I've sold, but only maybe two that I regret selling, and the DC/1 was one of them. :aww: It had tons more tone and character than the other Brian Moores I had played (C-90P, i2).
