Doug is awesome.

So what's the deal with the "new" MG series?

4 channels. clean, crunch, od1 and od2. comes with a damping switch to fatten up the sound (imo it makes it more crunchy than fatter). chorus, reverb, flanger, phaser and delay built in. comes with a built in tuner. theres two modes of setup, ones manual where you just dial it in, the other is where it renembers the eq settings, what effects used etc when going to the channel, similar to the jvm. comes with 4 button footswitch which comes preset as clean/crunch, od1/2, tap tempo and the tuner thats on the pedal. you can use the footswitch to save presets obviously also.

You know, I actually like the tone he has going on there more than some of his other tones using his main rig! That was impressive.

Is seems as if they use regular cabs for the MGs (i.e. 1960)
That might contribute to it sounding better? Death also used 1960 cabs for their Valvestates.
The MG and VS cabs aren`t that good sounding, but this sounds pretty darn nice.

Doug could play through pretty much anything and make it sound good
