At 3:50 he begins his live solo!!!! It is nothing short of some of the most incredible, tasteful playing i have ever heard!!! This man is no joke. I am so impressed with Dougs style, tone and ability to blend various styles of lead guitar into one piece of music. Look forward to many more years of Dougs playing!!

His playing inspires me. Something i've been struggling to find these days

I remember that style back in 1988...

Huh? Kind of a douche remark..willing to bet he could play circles around you.

Then why say I remember that as a 1988 style? He actually incorporates a lot of different styles in his playing. Sounds like a dis to me

Really dug that thanks for sharing.
I went back and watched some of your videos on YT and your clips sound very close to what Doug was laying down.

Thank you for the kind words. But honestly i'm not qualified to restring Dougs guitar. The upside is Mr Rappoport inspires me to play and try to improve

I agree with the EJ comparison. Still i can easily tell them apart so... I could listen to Doug play all day long

Agreed, ej got me to rethink all the legato slurs I was obsessed with back then and pick each note out in a run. I still have that style today.

Doug is one of my favorite players. He's got the EJ thing down but he's got his own thing too and I think that's what I dig the most. Great player!

Woke up and listened to this again. Holy shit. Just freakin' off the hook. Tone and chops for days.

Every time I hear Doug (never seen him live, just youtube clips) he just gets better from the last time I heard him - THAT is inspiring. -Jim
