I'm taking the plunge for a higher end cab. I play smaller clubs, but want the ability to play larger clubs with two cabs.

I already have a great semi-open back 2x12, but I have some cash so I want to explore.

Bogner is now making an OS 2x12, that they are calling an open back, but it's really a SEMI-open back cab with about a 4" gab with no middle back panel.

Does any have have any experiences with both?

I've had various 4x12's and my last cab was a Port City OS Wave 2x12. I now prefer 2x12's and just like trying out different things.

I play a 5153 50w, mostly hard rock and blues ala SRV, STP, AIC, Kravitz, Crowes, Gov't Mule, etc.

Thanks

Never played either but I have heard great things about Dr. Z cabs. He is local too so I will vote in that direction. Keep the Cleveland economy rolling along!

Ha! I love your reasoning. OK, I'll keep that in mind.

Anyone else?

If you like the Port City OS wave you would like the Z best. It's a similar thiele built design. Personally I like the oval open back much better then the 3/4 closed back.

Well, I found my PC a bit directional, but still great sounding. I do NOT find my semi-open back cab directional, which is why I think I'm a convert to 3/4 open backs.

Any other thoughts or experiences?
