Just for fun, if you could put together your "dream band", who would you have in it? Dont worry about genre clashing or probably wont gel, or anything like that. Totally just for fun.

Mine:
Rhythm Guitar / Vocals - James Hetfield
Lead Guitar - John Petrucci
Bass - Chris Wolstenholme
Drums - Dave Grohl

Lead/Rhythm Guitar - Dimebag Darrell
Lead Rhythm Guitar - Gary Holt
Vocals - Phil Anselmo
Bass - Steve Harris
Drums - Dave LOmbardo

Vocals : Sharon Osbourne
Drums : Meg White
Tuba : Stewie Griffin
9 string guitar : the guy from the Presidents of the USA
Xylophone : random audience member

For hard rock - Tony Harnell (vocals), Doug Aldrich (guitar), Michael Anthony (bass), and any one of the many talented unemployed drummers out there.

And just for funky crazy fun - Leo Sayer (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar, co-vocalist), Guthrie Govan (guitar), Stuart Zender (from Jamiroquai, bass), Chick Corea (keyboard), and Marco Minnemann (drums).

I can't help myself when it comes to these threads... Such a childish guilty pleasure

Main Guitar: Guthrie
Main Guitar: Dweezil
Bass: Claypool
Drums: Chad Wackerman or Dave Weckl

In the heavier realm:
Guitar: John5
Guitar: Steph Carpenter
Bass: Rob Trujillo
Kit: Tomas Haake

For a totally trippy band:
Guitars: Brothers Ween and Adam Jones
Bass: Flea
Kit: Terry Bozzio
Keys/Synth: Jordan Rudess

F*ck ya that last band would be just SICK!!!!!!

Vocals: Chick from Arch Enemy (A. Gossow)
Guitar: Andy James
Drums: Marco Minnemann

Or
Killswitch Engage!

I got to go old school.
Y'know the Beck's Bolero supergroup deal with Page, Jones, Moon, Hopkins. I'd do just a couple of tweaks -

Bon on the vocals
Iommi - guitar
Geezer - bass
Bonzo - drums
Jeff Beck - lead guitar

in their primes ...I'd like to hear that.

I guess Zep and Sabbath as is though ain't bad.

For a more modern bent though I wouldn't change a thing with these guys.

Doug Aldrich - guitar
Uriah duffy - bass
Kevin martin - vocals
Brian tichy - drums

G-Roland Grapow
G-James Hetfield
B-Geddy Lee
V-Amy Lee
D-Mark Zonder
K-Kevin Moore

Everyone on the list sings except Zonder, lots of possibilities.

Drums. John Bonham

Rhythm Guitar. Malcom Young

Lead Guitar......Michael Schenker AND Neal Schon AND John Sykes.

Bass. Tony Franklin

Vocals. Steve Perry and Coverdale.

Well, you can put together all stars but if they don't gel its no better than average guys....

but here goes..

Bass and backup vocals: Michael Anthony
Drums: Phil Rudd
Guitar: Skunk Baxter
Guitar2: Me - cause I would dream to jam with these cats!

Drums/Vocals: DGrohl
Bass/Vocals: Claypool
Guitar: Ola
Guitar: Vai

Vocals: Corey Taylor
Rapper: Ludicrous

Hmmm...this is interesting. I'd go with

Drums: Michael McBrain
Bass: Steve Harris
Guitar: Kage
Guitar: Adrian Smith
Guitar: Me
Vocals: Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio and Bruce Dickinson (all in their prime too!)

Now that's a dream band!

I recently read Tony Iommi's biography and Sabbath and Zepplin were friends. There are recordings of them jamming together, Tony has them.

I play in my dream band. My kid on drums and 3 other guys that enjoy playing music and all the ego/rockstar stuff is left at the curb.
