Hello fellow tone chasers! I mostly lurk here (daily!), but figured I'd ask about something I've always wondered, but never had the opportunity to check out. What would be the ultimate rig of hugey awesomeness (hugey is a word, right? ;) )... some sort of blended dual amp setup? or a W/D/W rig? I know it would depend on a load of things such as personal taste and type of amps/cabs, etc. But, just wondering if anyone has compared both approaches to a "bigger sound", and what your thoughts/opinions are?

Both at once! Dry amp with a VH4S as wet. You only live once!

Yolo! Have you ever tried that? Also... how about this variation: The dry amp has a wet cab and dry cab... and the VH4S has a dry and wet! Maybe we have crossed some sort of line. haha.

For me, Multi-Amp - W/D/W rig, is the biggest sounding, and versatile rig I've heard yet. An attenuator on 'load'-- eliminating the middle Dry, gives the option to the W/D/W rig user, to go stereo quite easily. ;)

Any video demos of the dynamics tri-chorus? Would love a comparison

Not yet... but these older videos (mono, unfortunately), show the reaction of people which is generally the same:

Nice! Does having a sub get in the way of playing with a bass player? That rig still ok in a mix? I play in a trio and want to have as big a guitar sound as possible without stepping on the bassists toes (too much, hehe).

No not at all,it gives you a big sound not more bass. The sub handles everything below a certain freq leaving your cab to handle low mids to high's,its hard to explain what it sounds like but it does sound huge!

Most massive sound I've ever had was with a two-amp setup.

I like the W/D rig one amp with effect and one with a clean ch. W/D/W is also cool but I think would be a mic'ing PITA for live. If you are on a small stage, can split your wet cabs left stage right stage and nobody needs to mic except the singer, that would be the best set up.

Mine sounds great in the basement

Damn... Now I want a sub. Sounds like the perfect solution to getting a bigger tone, without having to go crazy with added volume. Is that the 300w or 600w version?

ISP sub... why you so spensive!! :D

I have the 300 watt one with a 12in speaker, not sure why they cost so much.. :(

W/D or W/D/W is the way to go!!! I prefer a separate power amp like the Maxtrix compared to using two amps.
