Hi there,

i got a question regarding the egnater modules.
They each have 2 channels, right?
Is it possible to change these two channels also via MIDI?

Thanks,

Matthias

The only way to change channels on the Egnater is via midi.

...You mean other than the little button labeled "channel" next to the guitar input. ;)

They do. The footswitch is a simple MIDI footswitch.

So then a midi pedal that can also control the loop would essentially give me a floorboard allowing me to control the channels/modes/effects loop!?

That was my one complaint with the footswitch - no loop on/off.

The Egnater Mod 50 amp that uses the dual channel modules does not have a switchable loop. The Mod 50 has 2 loops, one series and one parallel but they are not switchable in and out of the circuit. With a standard midi footswitch hooked up to a Mod 50 you can change channels within a module (channel a or b) and/or change to another module, but no loop function.

But couldn't I use a true bypass loop box on my pedalboard to do this as well? This way I could turn a group of effects on at once.

Yes but youd still have to step on Egnater footswitch and also the true bypass loop. You could probably use some sort of switcher to take a MIDI signal from your Egnater footswitch and have it relay your true bypass loop. I think Axess makes such a thing. (CFX?)

Correct, I could hit the Egnater switch to choose my channel and then hit the loop box to bring the loop into the mix.

However, couldn't I just get a midi effects unit, place it in the loop and use midi to control everything? I thought the head was a midi ready head?

Yes you could use midi.
set up patches .Clean + Chorus, Bluesy and Verb .Hi-gain + delay. or use no effects at all it will give you 128 presets .
that said you need a MIdi switch .the Egnater footswitch only will do 4 combinations i believe

So, I could use a Rocktron Midi Mate. I was close to buying a used Diezel Einstein but I am back on the Egnater thing again! LOL.

I need to check if the MOD 50 has built in midi.

Anyone know how the MOD 50 is at low volumes???? Some amps with low power switches excell at low volumes. I thought I remember hearing that about this one. The new VHT SIG X is supposed to be like that as well.

I really have to ask myself how much I would use ALL channels on these modules. For example, I like a lot of mids and less highs/bass for lead so I would have a tough time using A/B for rhythm and lead. I would most likely have to use B for rhythm and then kick in an external EQ for lead.

The MOD50 sounds great at low volumes,I even put a set of yellowjacket triodes in mine and it is insane at low volumes, very low volumes,as it is at loud volumes,It has been the best amp I've ever owned, the only amp to end gas for me.........

Looks like I am getting one.

If this does not work for me, I'll be looking at something like the Mesa Road King. :)

Out of the Egnater modules, which has the most growl similar to a Diezel or VHT? I don't hear that in clips, his modules seem really smooth.

Just wanted to add that I agree with every word. :)
