Well.. It never fails... Played a show and damn was my rig slamming. Months of tweaking turned into one cultivated awesome wa la! Two rehearsals later.... Boom, I start getting air raid sirens out of my amp.. WTF

No earthly idea what the hell is wrong, but I was able to recreate the issue twice. Turn the amp on and play the amp, click standby, once it goes quite turn the power off, and then a siren tone comes through the cab. The siren goes up in pitch actually over a 20-30 second period, then dissipates.

I'll most definitely take a video of this tonight.. but thought I'd ask some of the resident amp gurus for their much appreciated opinions.

Need to know more about the rig. Is there a secondary amp?

Krank Rev+, Mills 4x12 cabinet, nothing in the effects loop, and using speaker out #1. I've never had anything like it happen.

What little I troubleshot: Tapped the tubes and nothing appeared "audibly" micro-phonic. Tried with both a cable in the input and without, yielded the same results.

I was timid to continue trying to recreate the noise and cause possible further damage to the amplifier.

I'll troubleshoot more this evening or Saturday morning and put videos/troubleshooting steps on here. Maybe I can save someone some time/headache in the future by documenting it here.

It's oscillating...too much gain or a bad tube or broken shielded cable somewhere...

Had this issue before and my cause was a bad speaker cable.

I'll be damned. That was the first thing I tried and it resolved the problem! Thanks !

Lmao! That's awesome. Glad it was something that simple. When it happened to me I remembered that I might have damaged the end of the cable that connected into the cab when I pushed the cab up against the venues back wall. So I switched out the cable. Sure enough... That was it. Glad it was an easy fix for you as well.

Glad you got it sorted. Thank God it didn't happen at the show, eh?
