Good call.

Has anyone here actually played one? I can understand 5000 grand for an extremely rare, artist owned amp but 225,000?

That's a mortgage or lobbying power

I'm sure this sold for less. People with that kind of disposable (or investment) income aren't going to pay asking price. When was the last time you paid asking price on a used item?

Stevie Ray Vaughn's first album was recorded at Jackson Browne's studio using a Dumble. This very well may be the actual Dumble Stevie used. Not saying that makes it worth the asking price.

Jackson owned a few Dumbles. The one used on Texas Flood was a Steel String Singer.

SRV's Lenny went for over $600k. Clapton's black strat sold for $1 million.

It only takes one or two fans with a lot of cash.

First thing I would do is add a white knob on the back and a cup holder

Way, way too rich for my blood. I do love me some Jackson Browne, great musician.

I would love to play through a dumble clone at some point just to see if the price is justified....

Strictly speaking, a Ferrari is also really overpriced and a ridiculous purchase... But if I had the cash for it, I would buy it.

I would probably still buy a Two Rock with the change, instead of that Dumble though.

I just somehow don't believe their value will increase enough for it to be an investment. I have, however, been wrong plenty of times in my life and this could be another one of those unfortunate incidents.

I believe that's what people were saying when they started fetching 20k. And then again when they were 40k.

 Exactly.

And good for the person who bought it, that he/she could swing it... I hope it will actually get used for what it was designed for.

Good for them. If I could afford it, I would buy it too :)

there is so much BS surrounding the dumble circuit. there's only so much you can do with resistor and cap values.

Rare, vintage and collectable aren't terms normally associated at the peanut gallery.
