Anyone using the Duncan Fury pickups? I'm thinking of putting them into my 73 Strat. Any input/review would be great. Thanks.

I have them in a MIJ 70's style Squier and I like them a lot. The bridge is a good bit hotter than the dimarzio HS-3/YJMs and the neck seems a little hotter, too. Definitely a more modern sound than the dimarzios. They sound great through a cranked boosted marshall for rock and shred stuff. I could see them working well for other types of music as well.

How do you like the clarity and tone for fast picking stuff? I always prefer single coils for their clarity and openness. The JB and PAF Pro I have on my 73 right now are too compress at high gain settings,

I had a thread about the HS-3 and HS-4 a few weeks ago...
Even if hotter, I think the YJM are still fairly low output compared to some other models like the SD Quarter Pound and Dimarzio Injector

Yup. I've got QP and Injectors in Strats and they are loud. Big tone coming off those pickups. The HS Dimarzios are lower output.

I've always loved Yngwie's early HS-2/HS-3 Strat tone. His modern tone - not as much.

They have a lot of clarity especially compared to most full size humbuckers. They do the strat shred thing very well.

Yeah, they do not really compare to high output singles, just hotter than the hs-3. I would consider them about medium output.
