I pocket bought a clone on reverb of this after stuffing phone in pocket hastily.

It was $70 so I figured Id try it out anyway thinking Id prefer inductor based and sell it.

I absolutely love it. :LOL

Threw a compliment of better opamps in it and it was already rated to handle up to 50v so I run it at 24 volts. I almost never want to turn it off.

Interestingly enough it serves as my solo eq/boost and wah all at once. Sounds best used without my typical front end eq and has enough boost on its own.

Mine is the old three knob notch eq version, not the crybaby.

Kerry King loves this thing and I see why now.

Anybody else have one?

I have a Cry Baby Q Zone...I don't use it often. A lot of times all I use is one pedal...a 535q. The Q Zone I was using for leads sometimes years ago.

Warning - full-on rant!!!!

So I had no idea what this pedal is, it's a cocked wah sound/tone, full-time cock. It is true, proven with this pedal, there are no bad tones, just different. I so hate the Tom Sholtz tone and want to reach into the radio to kick the half-cocked wah off. To think someone came up with a pedal to do cock sound, full on. What's next, a pedal to sound like Eric Johnson where there is echo always and the gain and high end are so limited you want to scream? I really, really, really wish I could mess with Eric's amp as he's playing just so I can hear what he could sound like without a pillow over his tone. Maybe EVH can give him his gear.

Tone is not always in the hands or gear, sometimes it's in the garbage can.

Yup I have one. Great pedal. Really fun to engage it then run an actual wah ontop of it.

Thats actually the new one with an inductor. Mine is the older without the inductor and less knobs. More a notch filter than a wah.

Id like to try that one also, as it is actually a static wah pedal.

As for the ranting dude... :D

Right, this is the now discontinued MXR Custom Shop Q Zone. The slider switch takes you between the Crybaby Classic, the Jimi Hendrix and the GCB voicings.
It's the same switch that's inside the mini Crybaby.
