Call me a fool. I didn't do my homework upfront.

I came across Earcandy on eBay. They were having a sale. They had 100% feedback so I checked reverb and the same thing 100%. I figured all good.

I could go into depth and detail but bottom line do not order an Earcandy cab. I paid 11/8 and after delays and some of the most comical and obscene excuses I filed my paypal claim today.

For the record this was not a custom build. It was for a cab that was in stock. All he had to do was order the speakers from Eminence, wire them up and install the cab handles. Was expecting a week tops.

I got a little 2x8 a while ago from him. Took a bit longer than expected but it came. Has some tolex issues, he said he would send me a new cab and never heard back after countless tries. They have a aweful track record. I think he tries sometimes, then goes off on a bender or somthing. I'll never do business with them again. Sorry for your incident dude

I never will either   to be honest I don't even want the cab now. Especially after hearing you got a Brand new cab with tolex issues? Sorry to hear.

I just hope the claim comes in before the cab :)

Maybe the claim will put a fire under his ass idk. They said we have 20 days to resolve which is lame but is what it is.

Found a different cab for sale that I'd love to have too that's what really sucks. Oh well, will see what happens.

You posted some suspicion of the transaction immediately after you purchased the cab. You alluded to that on another thread. Did you have a gut feeling the deal stunk?

I have a 6 year claim. He's a worthless bag of shit. If I was in the US, I would just drive up and squeeze until the shit oozed out.

2 - 212 cabs. This was before he accepted PayPal.

If anyone talks to that cunt, please pass on the message.

You'd have to point out the date honestly. I think I assumed all was good until a week after my purchase because that should've been enough time for the can to have been shipped. When he said eminence was out of stock and he had to wait. I checked eminence website and I had no issues getting all the way to checkout.

That's when I think I started digging and saw all the bad reviews online. I gave the benefit thinking maybe dealers have access to different stock.

To add insult to injury the following week when it was supposed to go out his shipping employee called into work to get a tooth pulled and that set him back. That tooth ache lasted over a full week lol.

For the icing, this week the building his shop is in was having extensions added. Someone cut a gas line and nobody was allowed anywhere near the building lol.

Yeah this guy is full of shit. I called the power company that services his area and they had no such claim.

Billy at GAB said to ask him if the gas leak was coming out of his ass since he is so full of shit

And yes to Steve K. If for some reason he writes me back, after my claim has settled I will most certainly bring that up. Along with all the bad reviews and how I've personally talked to several people who will never bring him business because he is not upfront and has a long history of lies.

Christ.

Many years ago, he offered an amp called the Earcandy Headcutter. The guy who designed and built the amp - Randy Fay - lives and works out of Windsor Canada (the 'ear cutter' was actually a tweaked Phaez Daisycutter). But when I contacted the ear candy guy to press him on this reality, he insisted that the amp was made in America. It was just crazy, since I know the builder and where he is from.

Oh, and one of the tweaks was to reverse-wire the gain pot so that it was at max when set to zero. :loco:

Man, this sucks! This guy gave me bunch of excuses when I bought my first buzzbomb, after 8 of emailing and excuses months finally got the cab...but that's why i have bought my other buzzbombs used to avoid the drama. I really believed that after listing as available on ebay he wouldn't give you his usual stories.

He's really sick. Currently in hospital. He like a lot of USA businesses often falls behind with orders (and gives various excuses) but this latest absence is legit.

You do realize that Windsor is right across the river from Detroit, Michigan? I could see some easy confusion there.

Sorry that is bullshit.

The guy was not emailing me from the hospital I can assure you. Maybe he is there now, hopefully not. I would not wish anyone ill but he was perfectly fine when this was going down. Considering I actually (FINALLY) got to see pics of the cab, albeit a bit altered after I filed the claim.

That was a (possibly legit) excuse some years ago but the bottom line is the guy was taking orders saying the cabs were in stock but in reality he was taking orders and then starting the build.

That is fine, no big deal. I talked to him a lot, offered some advice and actually felt bad for him at one point. If he was up front and did not lie I would probably have a buzzbomb right now but instead I have a Mills Mach B 2x12 that matches my Mills Afterburner and I could not be happier.

It is water under the bridge and reading back on this maybe I was a bit harsh, I was extremely pissed off at the time of writing this thread but it is all good. It worked out better for me in the end and it looks like he may have sold the cab he was building for me on Ebay so it worked out for everyone I suppose.

Good service goes a long way with me and all that I needed was the truth that he could not deliver, after multiple opportunities.

Earcandy is near the TOP of the list of douchebags NOT to deal with. There's been several threads over the years and that Dental excuse has been brought up before by others.

Honestly, it was all worth the hassle just to see Billy's comment about the gas leak

this is not the first go round on the excuse train for this guy. if something is always coming up he should close up shop and do something else that doesn't involve lying to people and always missing his deadlines.

his cabs aren't even that good. there are plenty of legit builders to work with out there.

So you guys won't be contributing to his Go Fund Me?

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=186064

You know, Honestly...I had my CC out filled out the form and was going to donate something very small because I don't have much extra...But after thinking and talking to my wife, I would not be surprised if this was a scam too.

Go look at the long history of many years of lies and screwing people over. Hell Tim owes Steve K two cabs alone.

How do I know this is not another scam? I was going to donate because I kind of believed it was true since his reverb shop is on vacation and if it is true it sucks no matter who it is.

But with all of the lies and scams this guy has pulled, there is a chance this is another scam.

Do you have any evidence this is true? If you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt this is legit I would donate something small. Otherwise I wish Tim the best and hope all is well if this is true.

Edit: Is Jamie Lynn Paulsen his wife? If so, I have read several posts of her being in on the scams as well since she was the secretary or something? Idk man, too great of a chance this is BS. I kind of think it is not but....The boy who cried wolf.

I will say in the end I did not get screwed over, most likely thanks to paypal. I got my money back but without Paypal who knows. Besides the lies Tim actually seemed like a really awesome guy. During my dealings with him I actually had hoped he came through and was being honest with his excuses so I could post some good feedback for him instead of bad. Since he has a bad rep online I figured maybe he had turned a new leaf.

Anyway, like I said if I knew 100% this go fund me wasn't a scam I would probably donate.

I was thinking the same thing - for all you know he crawled in a hospital bed while visiting a family member and his wife snapped a couple picks. Unfortunate that his reputation has taken so many hits that you can't trust his Go Fund Me campaign is legit.

For sure, made me think of one of those that is not funny but it's funny comments that I will refrain from posted.

I posted this on GAB and someone brought up a good point to make me question this even more. I don't know the details but isn't Obamacare a thing?

Like if you do not have insurance you automatically get Obamacare? And you actually have to pay money/Tax penalty to opt out if you don't want it? I can't see anyone in their right mine actually paying money to opt out of some insurance when they do not have any.

Especially someone who has had a supposed history of hospital visits. Does not add up to me, or am I just misunderstanding how Obamacare works?

Not going to go into all the details of his many late deliveries, but the Ear Candy Cab owner has a long history of stories. I first heard them, first hand, when he called me in 2005 to straighten out a delay on one of his BuzzBomb cabs. My client's speaker was at his shop for over 3-4 months AFTER the delivery date.

The client finally got his cab about six months after that delayed date, so figure early 2006. He wanted me to tell the client I was delayed on shipping the speaker to him to help him out. In fact he'd already received it before he placed the call to me. I guess he figured I didn't check my tracking #'s to find out if it got there, and hadn't told the client.

Of course, I had told the client he had it already, and he was pissed that story line wouldn't work.

While I wish no ill will on Mr. Paulsen healthwise, he's flamed me online, to his clients, and on his website for my Factory Break In process and whatever else he could get away with. I finally sent him an email last year letting him know that I would contact an attorney I've used in Indiana to send him a cease and desist letter if he didn't remove his false allegations from his site.

When I went to his site yesterday after seeing the "Go Fund Me' campaign, I see he finally complied with that request.

I must say, though, he's managed to keep having clients buy from him and put up with this stories for over a decade that I know of. I guess I wasn't impressed by his spiel on the phone 12 years ago, and he still isn't happy about it.

So, no, I won't be contributing to his GFM campaign, and I know of at least 20-30 online (I quit tracking this years ago, mind you) clients of mine that won't be, either.

Karma...sometimes you just have to wait for it.
