I just got my new HoofReaper Fuzz delivered on Friday, mainly for the Octave and Hoof, but I wanted to play with the Reaper fuzz as well. I can't. The reaper produces a terrible feedback when switch on and I can't figure out why. I tried switching it on with no guitar plugged in and it produces a loud static in all knob positions except for 0 on level that the Hoof side of the house doesn't. I thought maybe it was the amp, so I tried unplugging my board from my Bugera 1960i, and plugged into my Egnater Rebel 20, same results. I tried isolating each pedal in the chain, and it's definitely the Reaper. I tried changing out the cables and replacing them with male/male pedal couplers, I even bought a new power supply today (it was plugged in to a Dunlop power brick, now I also own a VooDoo Labs Iso 5). I can't for the life of me get rid of the squeal when I engage it. Does anybody have any tricks for this?
My signal chain is as follows
Front of amp:
Guitar -> Jim Dunlop Wah -> TC Electronic Polytune -> Maxon OD808 -> Boss DS-1 -> Earthquaker Devices HoofReaper-> Bugera 1960 Infinium Front of Amp
FX Loop
Send ->Electro Harmonix Nano Holy Grail -> TC Electronic Flashback Delay -> Return
