I bought an ebtech hum eliminator to try to stop the hum /buzz that is blaring out of my herbert. Basically my setup:
guitar->boss gt-pro>voodoo amp selector>Herbert
At first I thought the noise was due to a preamp tube in herbert. Swapped the first 2 with brand new JJ's [Man those tubes are hard to get to!] still same noise, so I plug in guitar straight to herbert - pretty quiet. SO i see my issue is that herbert has a ground loop issue. so I order a hum eliminator and finally get it today and plug it like this:
guitar->boss gt-pro>voodoo amp selector>hum eliminator>Herbert
Still same noise - I didnt really notice any change with ot without the hum eliminator. My jubilee is acting the same way. my other 2 amps aret, but they have a ground lift or equivalint.
I am not going to attempt to lift ground on herbert because I remember peter said something to the lines of "DO NOT EVER RUN WITHOUT A GROUND
"
Just blowing off steam, Im going to figure out the source tomarrow. Mostly wanted to just let people know the hum eliminators are not always going to help you out.
