effect order going in the loop.

I havent messed with my board in awhile but want to add my chorus pedal.
The pedals going to the loops include;
Delay
Phase
Mojo Vibe
and now the chorus.

Does the "order" of the pedals matter into the loop?
(delay first,,then Vibe etc.etc.)

I'd go with the delay as the last item in the chain for the cleanest sound. The sound will vary a bit depending on the order you choose for the phase, Mojo Vibe, and chorus, so I'd experiment to see what you end up liking the best.

Yeah, I like the delay last as well. I usually end with delay then reverb being last. All the others can go where you think they sound best.

Thanks,
My delay is the last in line(going to the amps return) but wasn't
sure if adding the chorus should be first or next to last.
I know Phase,Vibe and chorus are similar time based effects but didn't
k now for sure if one would effect the other being first ,in the middle,or next to the delay.

Delay in the loop and phase, vibe, chorus in front of the amp.

Why cant the phase or chorus go in the loop? Does it weaken their effect ? I thought it would be the cleanest way to do it.

No wrong way to do it, some just prefer the way an effect sounds in front of the amp vs in the loop. It will sound different so experimentation is key.

My preference is chorus in front. I don't use phase or a vibe pedal so I can't comment there.

I only have a delay or reverb in the loop. I use a phase, chorus, flange, vibe in front of the amp. I find some pedals, especially the phase just sounds really strange in the loop.

But hey, run it the way you want and have fun!

As mentioned, no wrong way if your ears like it.

Keeley used to have a recommendation thing on his site, it was a acronym type thing.

I do phase up front, and chorus in the loop. Believe Verb last in loop, then delay next to last, all other loop stuff random.

Basic rule of thought is times based effects go short delay times first while moving into longer delay times, longest delay time being last.

I ran everything in the loop for awhile out of set up ease. A few years ago I switch to just having real time based effects in the loop (Delay, Reverb) a volume pedal and a noise suppressor. Going send>V.P.>ISP>Delay>Reverb>return. Occasionally I run a compressor in the loop too. Vibe, phase, chorus, flange all of them can and usually do add some gain, so I now run them out front. They nature will boost the front end so I treat them as a boost. This clean up my tone and add some nice nature grindy harmonics. I like my tone a lot more like this. I'd experiment like others have said with out front vs in the loop. Some vibes and leslie rotary effects sound better in the loop. Literally, play it by ear.

I generally prefer chorus in the loop but it really depends on what chorus it is. Some sound better in front. I do prefer phase in front for sure. Harmonizer/pitch shift - like octaver in the loop if you run overdriven or it can track funny some times. Definitely delay and verb in the loop.

If they are used with gain/distortion, then it's just the opposite; placing modulation after gain will intensify the effect. Putting a phaser in the loop will pretty much wash out your tone into a swirly mess (IMO) and can cause some harsh high-end stuff when the phase is at certain points in the cycle. Putting it before gain keeps the basic gain structure intact and you get the classic phaser tone. Same goes for Vibe.

Of course, it's all a matter of personal taste. Chorus goes either way. Depends on whether or not you want to use it with gain and how intense you want the effect to be.

I agree...Phase and Mojo in front...chorus and delay in loop

Which Chain Of Effect Pedals Makes Life Easy?
Which (Wah) Chain (Compressor) Of (Overdrive) Effect (EQ)
Pedals (Pitch) Makes (Modulation) Life (Levels) Easy (Echo)?

Looks like I have my work cut out for me .
Thanks guys
