So full circle now I've come.

It's happened to me over the years in more ways than one, with gear-here. At times it may seem (to me) like endless fidgeting.

Trust me, I been going through PTDS for more years than I care to disclose.

In the end, it's come back to roost - 5150II, but in the ubiquitous form of the 6505+. The ultimate hard rock, metal guitar amp. Obviously nothing new (1992) and this thing is just amazing for what it was designed for. The layout is just there. Take it, work it, use it, it sounds amazing and HUGE. The simple designation of pre/post in lieu of gain/volume always made more sense to me.

I really didn't realize how much I had missed Peavey all these years isolated (literally) at times in Herbert zone, since 2003.

Thank you for the re-set Hartley!

Here's another cool demo. Again, for me the 6505 just bangs. The contrast between the 6505 (at 5:45) to the Dual Recto (at 7:10) is huge.
