Effects Pedal Power Switch?

Guys,
I'm doing a little research on a detail for my upcoming effects pedal line: Would it be better if an effects pedal had a Battery Disconnect Switch instead of having to unplug the input cable all the time?

I know a lot of folks use power supplies, but many don't for distortion and overdrives.

Thanks,

I think that would be a great idea and it would just be a matter of the guitar player getting into a habbit of shutting the battery off (just like we all got into a habbit of disconecting the cables!!)
The other option I love is having easy access to the battery instead of the old school pedals where you had to unswer the freaking thing lol :D

I vote for a switch type thing, less wear and tear on the cables and input jacks of the effect.

I've had some Analogman pedals that had the battery shut off switch on the Volume pot before, worked well. But, I tend to keep everything mounted on a pedal board and run everything off a PP2+ these days. It's just simpler that way IMO and I never have to worry about a battery dying during the middle of a gig.

Yeah I'd say keep it clean and simple. No need for the switch. Most folks are using power supplies nowadays.

I personally like the idea of having the battery switch on the pedal.. I don't have a pedalboard that stays the same, i'm always carrying random pedals with me when i go to jams and 99% of the time im using batteries.

Like Ralph said, gotta have the easy access battery compartment too, i hate having to unbolt the back of those old MXR pedals just to change a friggin battery.. Its impossible to do that when gigging and the battery dies!

I agree on the battery compartment. I also figured I would still use the input jack to make the battery ground, just so you couldn't accidentally bump the battery switch while in the gig bag. More foolproof.
