I've heard that Egnater is Custom Shop. Is that true? Because I'm thinking about getting their M4 Preamp and Custom Power amp.

As far as I know, which isn't much, Egnater is not making modular hardware at the moment; they are making dual channel modules. My suggestion would be searching the used market for an M4 and a power amp of your choice.
