Great clean channel. Dirty channel is different. Nice and full, but just didn't seem to have the growl I was looking for. Features are nice and sounds pretty good at low volumes. Great clean channel.

Awesome...I was planning on boosting it with my OCD, maybe that would help...

I ended going back to a Marshall to get some meatiness. I've heard someone call the Renegade's dirty channel "boring" and in some ways I agree, but I guess that is going to depend on what you want it to do. The longer I had it, the more I missed the Marshall growl, but I always go back to a Marshall.

Too bad too because the clean channel is a good a clean on a channel switcher as you'll find.

Obviously, if you can find one to play, do it and give it a good run through.

I use one with the matching TM212 cab with 2 Elite 80's.

Very Warm Pleanty of Meat And Punch... (I don't know what the other poster is talking about).

Not a Marshall sound... No A 6L6 in there... Very much like John Sykes 87' WhiteSnake Sound... I use it for a practice/bedroom amp... But with that cab I don't think it would have a problem at a small gig.

Highly Recommended Especially for the price!

one of the best clean channels ive heard. right up there with both of my number one contenders

they dont like celestion 75's too much....didnt sound good at all with them to me. more V30's based i would believe.

I agree with Matt. The clean channel on this amp was surprisingly great, and the drive is killer too. I wouldn't say it's a boring sound by any means. Although it is a bit...polite sounding. Killer amp for the money! MUCH better sounding than the Tourmaster

I agree! I had Sykes on my mind most of the time! I told Bruce to make this amp 15 years ago and he passed.

I agree! I said v30 or cl80's when we were developing!

The polite comment comes from a last minute tweak Bruce did when GC said make it a bit more Egnater...smoother I guess!

I have the 212 Combo. Both Channels are great, lots of flexibility with the clean channel, very nice when used with a boost, ala Andy Timmons Electric Gypsy territory. My only gripe with it is that I find the Presence/Density and Normal/Thick/Bright switches a bit pointless. I always have the P and D set to 0, and never use the bright or thick settings. It would be awesome just as a 2 channel amp with no bells or whistles. That said, its one of my faves and the Tube Mix option is FANTASTIC :-D

really? I use them all the time when I wanna strive away from my regular tones.

I love my 212 renegade combo and I would definitely not call the dirty channel boring. I recently retubed mine with KT88's and it sounds fantasic!
