Has anyone tried these amps? They seem like a good deal for the money.

Played the Armageddon--sounds great (Imagine a budget Herbert) but now has me worried that it's taken over a year to get to market.

I played a Vengeance at the local GC and really dug it.

I did too. Would have liked to heard it at gig volume though. (I'm cognizant of reasonable volume in-store)

I've played the vengeance and it impressed me quite a bit. I'd like to spend some more time with it.

We must really hear things different because I really don't think it sounds anything like a Herbert. I borrowed a Vengeance for a weekend and it went head to head (pun intended) against the Herbert, Engl, and both Peters. It got slaughtered. It seemed muddy to me. I retubed it with KT77's and EL34's, that did help but it still was not a tone that I go for at all. I almost made a video comparing them but felt I didn't need to bash it(even though I feel the need now). It sounded decent at low volumes but when pushed it really could not hold a candle to my other amps. I really wanted to like it too. :aww:

On the other hand, the clean and classic rock type tones were pretty damn good. IDK, just not my thing. It had really weird mids too.

Can't speak to the Vengeance--haven't played it. Layout of the Armageddon is quite similar to Herbert (Mid cut control anyone?) but the on-board ISP Decimator is a great feature.

Sorry about that. I read you wrong, thought you said Vengeance. I had heard the preamp circuit was basically the same on both the Vengeance and the Armageddon, this is just hearsay on my part. I would imagine they would be close but maybe I'm wrong. I would like to hear the Armageddon to see if it's better to me.

Built in ISP would be awesome.

Again, my apologies on my inability to read. :D

I posted a question on Egnaters forum here at Rig Talk asking about the difference between the gain channels of the Arm vs. the Veng....Bruce said they were quite similar.
