Just gotsta say, I'm LOVING my Electro-Harmonix "Cathedral Stereo Reverb" and the "Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker". Not too expensive, but damn if they're not just the tastiest additions to my current line up of stomps!! That Cathedral Reverb, peeps - I can't believe the pure tone outta this thing!! Just awesome ambient effects. And the Big Muff?? I had to do it - instant Slash-style liquid solo tone... Right there, in one 'fuzz' pedal. Perfect.

fuck yeah!

I really like modulation effects, particularly chorus effects. But a lot of chorus out there sounds too cheesy or too bright/tinkly/slick for my liking. I've got a couple other chorus units which are dear to me, but..........

I found the best chorus sound in a flanger pedal, EHx's Deluxe Electric Mistress. Has such a warm, dark, deep syrupy swirl :inlove: .

I also have a Worm which is a phaser pedal, and includes a pulsating tremolo, vibrato, and modulated wah-wah. All the features work pretty well. Only slight gripe is that it clips a bit when playing hard. I know that can be fixed by using a compressor before it, so no big deal.

I also have the POG (first issue). So much stuff you can do with this thing! True creamy organ sounds, DEEP bellowing organ sounds, a semi-octave fuzz when pushing its Level slider up, 12-string/18-string guitars, chimey sounds, heaps of things.

I love EHX stuff. It's affordable, and it sounds good. Simple enough to mod, as well.

I've been meaning to check out that Cathedral pedal.
Looks very interesting.

Does it have any volume drop issues or suck any tone?
I had a Holy Stain that did some sweet ambient reverb effects, but the volume drop when it was engaged just ruined it for me.
It was a painful decision to have to let it go.

NO tone suck or noticeable/substantial volume drop with the Cathedral. It's by far the sweetest sounding reverb stomp I've ever had... Super, super toneful and just sooooooooooooo rich. I'm really hooked on these. As for the Electric Mistress - I was really close to picking this up along with my order, but I know I've got the "Holy Trinity" soon arriving, and I think these will cover everything else in between (3 Eventide stomps - the Time, Mod and Pitch Factors...big bucks, but from all the other pedals I've demo'd or researched, I think they have what I'm looking for). Pog eh?? Ya, I was watching the Pog2 demo off the EHX site - it might have to happen.

I just love their products - so simple - big knobs - solid metal casings - user friendly - and just f*ckin' sweet.

New fan...definitely.

Thanks for the info mate. :)
I will definitely be checking out the Cathedral.

i picked up a metal muff about two weeks ago and have been having a lot of fun dialing things in.
it can go from a big muff on the lowest distortion setting to holy crap that's a lot of chug. the eq is quite useable and the top boost feature is great for added edge or soloing if you don't go overboard with it. i've got to spend more time with it.. but all things considered it's money well spent.. for me anyway. ymmv. :)
considering the amount of gain it has it isn't that noisy and the buffered bypass doesn't suck tone.

How much does that reverb pedal cost?

You can get the Cathedral for about $200 new - and it comes with the AC adapter. Considering the number of reverbs I've tried, and either they sounded stale, too clinical, plain like shit, or buzzy or weak, this one simply takes the cake. Now, that's my opinion, I am sure there are others out there who've tried it and hated it, but for me, it's EXACTLY the type of sound I wanted, and the way it works is EXACTLY how I like it to. It's SO simple to tweak, the infinite button is an AWESOME adjunct (press it and hold it and it maintains the last tone of reverb forever...while you can continue to play on top of it); its 8 presets are delicious, and you can make yer own too.

I just like it...a lot. Simple, beefy, and sounds like what I was hearing in my head. The Big Muff is sooooooo old school, but it's amazing when used as a sustainer for fluid legato style solos - just keeps going and going and sounds super full and rich. I'm just stoked about these 2 stomps.
