Hey guys,
I know JH/QOTSA uses the Fulltone Ultimate Octave pedal to get that nice "Sick Sick Sick"/"Gardenia"/"Regular John" style of sound, and I'd love to get that pedal but its not in production and I dont have a spare £250 to drop on one off ebay or something. So this brings me to my question, can the Electro Harmonix Octavix pedal produce a very similar or same style of effect or sound? Or can anyone recommend an appropriate octave pedal?
Cheers
:)

Eqd hoof reaper works well. Are used ultimate octaves really that high now? I remeber picking one up a few years ago for maybe $125 or so.

Might try for a Nano Pog second hand, no more suggestions? :)

There are tons of Octave fuzz pedals out there that should get you in the ballpark. Josh's tone has a lot of other things going on that are probably far more important than having the octave up. E.g. Fuzz by itself, dunlop Q-Zone, stone deaf or maestro ep-1 parametric filter etc.

the octavix is pretty weak if you ask me , the nano pog is the shit though for octaves, I go nano pog into a hendrix fuzzface...

The Fulltone Octa-fuzz is great in both settings
I'll look into that one.

I'll look into some of those too. Ive heard of the Q Zone before I think.

Well, I was hoping the Octavix would be just as good for less money, but I guess this is a case of you get what you pay for :')

Thanks for the suggestions guys
