So....after some months of working/non-working I think that my 100W Einie's head channel 1 blue led is officially down. Not that amp doesn't play well without it, but I certainly miss it :)

What to do? Where can I purchase one? And how easy/hard is to replace it (I have love/hate relationship with the soldering iron - did significant number of guitar electronics - so I guess if it is not overly complicated I would handle it myself).

Thanks in advance,
Niki

Cut the two wires, leave some on the board though. Push gently the LED (fixed with a drop superglue) into the chassis and take it out. Install the new, fix with a drop super glue and solder back to the rest of the wires you've left on the board.

The longer one is "+". Its also labelled on the board where's "+" and "-".

Use a standard 3.5V 20mA blue clear LED (or something fancy like pink to customize :D )

I just changed mine out as well before I sold it as it had recently burned out on me. My Einstein board didn't have the + or - on it. In any case, the easiest way is to look closely at the LED and see which side has the angled notch out of it in the bulb (you'll clearly see it). Make note of this and solder the new LED with the same orientation into the cut wires that you left, push back in and you are good to go.

:)

Thanks. Its been a while I've had a look on an Einstein board.
