I know the G system works great with midi amps (VH4 and Herbert) but will it work with a Einstein that has the channel 1 mode mod? I'm wondering if I will be able to run the two stereo cabs and still use all 4 effects loop slots, while still having control to switch between the 3 modes of channel one and switch to lead and use 2nd master. Or if I would have to use 2 loop slots for channel switching and only have two left for pedals? I know in a previous thread that Andy Wood said he would be using a Einstein for recording and clinics and maybe some smalle side show? Wondering if he is using the G sys with this Einny rig too? And if so how?

should work because you have 2x2relays on the g. and as long as i remember, the relays on einstein are grounded while switching.

so you would need two trs cables from the g's relay outputs to a) the channel/master jack and b) the modded jack on einstein.
then you could program the patches on the g to switch the channels... but only one channel per patch. if you use the a/b-function of the g and program one button to do the a/b switch then you can have two channels per patch.

BE SURE to always have the einstein front switch on ch1 on mode2 so there will be no overloading the circuit. you then need to find out which combination of the g's CCCC-OOOO does what. read about the relay switching in the g's manual which you can find on tc's page.

O'k I think I'll just get a Herbert.  No, that sounds logic. I just wanted to have a couple of programable loops for a few random pedals. I don't have a G unit so it's all just relative in my head on your directions. I think I know what your saying but would I be able to still use the other two loops (relays?)? And I also see you listed one (g-sys) in your gear slot, do you use that on the Einstein too? I'm just tired of tap dancing, so I'll be going midi one way or the other. I won't have to many settings. Just clean w/ chorus & dealy, a reg. clean/boosted and a couple of dirty settings.

loops are not relays. you have 4 loops + 1 insert loop for preamp and 2x2 relays for switching. you will most probably also need a hum eliminator by ebtech e.g. to cut ground loops. if you go for it then look here for more information: http://forum.tcelectronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=1913

i use the g with the einstein, too. some say it is a tone sucker and indeed it reduces a little volume, but it's the best compact fx with all these possibilities... you have to hear for yourself. it needs a little bit of tweaking though... it's not a plug and play thing regarding possible noise issues. but the tc-forum is great and most problems are already solved by the users. be sure to get lairs's white paper in the forum.

Thanks again for the info. I just came across the videos on TC website that explain the channel switching. So if I understand this correctly, I can take the two TRS cable that are plugged in to the modded Einny and plug them into the two relays and with a few knob tweaks I should be able to set and save all my channels selections? I'm wondering if you use a modded Einstein and if so. . is switch and setting between all three channels (Ch 1 all 3 modes) plus the lead channel and 2nd master volume a problem? I still want acces to both master's and all channel settings (MODE 1,2,3 and Lead Channel). I'll get on the TC board to if I do choose to use the G system.
Thanks again Elfredoo for all your input.

sorry im no help here, i only use the g system with herberts. I use the einy with pedals for small clinics or grab and go situations.

Thanks Andy, BTW keep up the good work. Got any plans for the midwest soon? In particular Minnesota area?

yes, 2x trs and got for it. the switching is something like that (depends on the cabling) (C open, O closed):

1a- 1b- 2a- 2b (relay)
C -- C -- C -- C -- ch1 mod2, ma1
O -- C -- C -- C -- ch1 mod1, ma1
C -- O -- C -- C -- ch1 mod3, ma1
C -- C -- O -- C -- ch2, ma1
C -- C -- O -- O -- ch2, ma2

BE SURE to have front amp switch on ch1 mod2.

but you most definetely need an ebtech hum eliminator, too
