Hi everyone & Dave/Mark

I wanted to ask if there is a 'recommended brand' of EL34 tubes for the BE100?? Mullards, Tesla's, Sovtek's etc?

Thanks in advance

Dave uses and has responded in forums to use ARS. I believe they are JJ/Tesla.

Yes JJ el34 tubes from ars electronics or jj e34l. The Ruby el34bht tubes are not bad either. If you need tubes Valve Queen is a great supplier. She tests things very well.

Dave if I order through Valve Queen for replacement tubes for my SS100 do I give her the number which is 41 on top of the power tubes? Thanks in advance

See no matter what that number says it might not be the right bias. We now are rating the tubes our self so you can order a certain number and it will be exact. So. Even if I send you replacements you should re bias the amp.

I have some Siemens/RFT EL34 ... would those be OK for BE-100? I know there are some concerns regarding those and high plate voltages but I used them in my XTC with no issues and sounded great.

The RFTs are what came stock in Bogner 100Bs. My 100B hat 550V plate voltage and they ran fine. I still have a hardly used quad I might put in my BE100 some day, because they are brighter than JJs, and they would probably make the BE a frikkin beast.
