I need a set of the former, I keep running into sets of the latter. Anyone know the difference?

I thought the CZ means Czech Republic. So they are basically JJ Tubes that are relabled.
Since the Chinese tube factory burnt down Ruby are no longer Chinese made. JJ has been making Ruby tubes ever since then hence the CZ marking.

I’m not a fan of JJ and will run PSVane, gold lion, tung sol, or sovtek before going JJ. Given the war efforts overseas I prioritize psvane and western electric when they do eventually offer tubes.

Tungsol EL34B's are hard to beat. Sound excellent.

The JJ hate is B.S. Buy them from Eurotubes, where they're stringently tested and graded. I've used JJ's nearly 20 years, and power tube failures have been few, and far between.

I don’t like how “most” JJ power tubes sound. Of course it depends on the amp. I do like the JJ 6CA7’s.

I wanted to like the JJ6ca7's but my very first quad were bad right from the get go..... Out of the EL34 group the only tube I liked were the NOS Gold Lion KT-77's. After those tubes I went back to my 6550's and Sylvania and EH 6ca7's.

Well said. I switched to JJ power tubes years ago. They're easy to find (Eurotubes), cheap, and sound great.
