Lately I've been using my Elmwood M90 with an Elmwood 2x12 & 4x12 (V30s) in a live band setting and I thought I'd give it some forum time as this Elmwood site is dead at the moment and I can't work out why.

I've been playing in a few bands doing Rush, Zeppelin, Deep Purple and a general cheesy cover band and it covers it all off effortlessly.

I've been using a couple of standard Strats and a Les Paul and I have to say this amp is an unsung hero. From Scream to Serene is what it can do.

I also found it sounded best using an Elmwood cab as they're frontloaded. Their cabs are so solidly built it's ridiculous.

Noise level for an amp of this nature is well below anything else. Definition and musicality is what it specializes in. Gain = PLENTY but sounds clean if that makes sense.

Seriously if you haven't tried one chase one down as you'll be most impressed.

I'm looking forward to trying their new El Toro model when (Jan ???) it finally becomes available.

BTW: I normally use a 20th Shiva, 20th Ecstasy (EL34 & 6L6), SLO100, Einstein and various Marshalls so I believe I can make a reasonably accurate assesment on the Elmwood.

I play a 101b and Einstein. How do you feel the Elmwood may complement those amps?
I am also interested in a Marsha, PT-100 and Fortin Bones...
Thanksss!

Mine sounds killer too, wide wide range of tones if you manipulate the two rear mounted fat and presence controls. I like a lot of mids so I run my fat at like 2:30-3oclock and the presence I add until it just shimmers. Treble is I think at 11, mid at 2 or 3 and bass at 1 I think. I have no idea why these fell out of favor so quickly but it really is a great amp with 4 pretty distict gain levels. poeple loved em and now ehhhhhhh?
