Video actually sounded pretty damn good. I have had a set in my LPC for a couple months now and couldn't be happier with them.

yeah that's why I posted it here......usually their demos don't sound that good..... I was surprised honestly.

I'd love to try them on my Explorer.

i like the bridge

didnt care for the neck tone

IMO they didn't capture a good neck tone. It sounded a bit muddy and too dark.

i like'em better than that passive to active circuitry SD is trying to pass off that sounds like ass.

will have to check out the bridge pickup possibly - sounds very good so far

I love them, i want another set, ANYBODY WANNA trade me their het set for my emg 81-60 or 85.

I always wondered what the dudes from Lacuna Coil thought after they did this on EMGTV,

then watched some skinny black dude wearing capri pants do this on the same show,

bridge sounded awesome, neck a bit weird, figured they'd show some clean tones with just the neck only (isn't that essentially all James uses the neck pickup for?) cool demo tho

I have a set in my Ken Lawrence Explorer and love them. Ken had just got them in when he was installing the electronics. They are probably my favorite PU right now. Ordered a set to try in one of my other guitars too.

You sure wonder about some unimportant stuff dude.

So who's the "skinny black dude wearing Capri pants?" That was some good stuff, regardless of his build, color or clothing.

Sounded good.

Would like to see a real demo of just guitar and amp, no production or stereo recording, because that enhances the tone quite a bit.

ask and you shall receive.

IMO this demo sounds AWESOME (it's got the typical youtube compression and crappy mic syndrome, but it's very easy to hear the clearness and punch)

The guy is using Hetfield's latest ESP Snakebyte into a Mesa Mark III

Damn man, found this video showin a comparison between the 81/60 and the JH set on the same guitar...... if it's TRUE that the guy didn't touch the settings on the amp, those JH set are HIGHLY SUPERIOR to the 81/60

The 81 is juicier, a bit darker, and more gelled together.

The JH bridge is brighter, stiffer, and has better note definition.

to me the 81 is a lot more compressed, and saturated (good for some players)

but the JH is more open less gainy and more focused.

they are really smooth and don't get near as mushy and fall apart like the 81/85's do, nor are they near as harsh. more well rounded....EMG did well with this set.

How do they do on mid-gain stuff? I'm doing 70's classic rock covers but I'm looking for some pick ups that can do double duty when flipping on the metal...

I think it would be your workhorse and pick up of choice with EMG for pulling double duty....more so than their other selections. I am really digging them.
