Hey guys,

Could you please share your thoughts about these speakers ?
Eminence GB12
Weber Legacy
WGS Invader

We are a bunch of french gear freaks here in France with a bunch of CCVs and Atomica on the way.

Problem is : as a long time Greenback lover, I think I just can't stand them anymore these days.
There is quite some harshness in the highs, plus it gets mushy quite fast in the low.

I definitely think there must be an improved GB somewhere. I've selected these because after giving some reading on the net, I tend to think they are really under rated...

Thanks to all,

Love this place,

Take care guys,
Martin

Ooooh, Martin... I'm also very curious about the WGS Invaders. I've heard that M75 owners speak very favorably of the invader, as if it's a poor man's version. As a poor man, that excites me some!

I've got a weber legacy... the M75 clone or whatever you want to call it. Nice speaker, more together than the RI in the lows and smoother on top for sure. I would say that i might find it a tad too smooth on it's own and am currently looking at a speaker i could pair with it. Try to find some used Eminence SuperV which were Lynch's speaker before he teamed up with celestion. I like two of them paired with the RI greenbacks. You are right though, in spots i find the greenbacks to be a tad harsh in the highs at times but i like the tone and breakup. Like you guys, I also wonder about the WGS. I like the idea of that C12... to my ears it sounds really nice. Somewhere between a Jensen and a Fane type of thing. I like the idea as my Super V's were also based somewhere between Fane, greenback, and V30 apparently....

Get Webers and don't look back.

Yes, they're that good!

The legacys are the same speaker u guys were payin double for last year , different sticker though.  can't beat $99 sale price!

Thanks Kapo and Capulin.
Very interesting stuff.

It sounds like the Weber is a must try !! Same thing for the WGS.
Gonna start looking around the net to find both.

Heard WGS has a new batch beeing delivered, shall be easy to find. The legacy is another story here in Europe... Hard to catch.

I remember the great vidz Psychodave did with the CCV, do you guys remember what his favorite speaker was ? (miss him).

Cheers

Problem with weber is shipping anywhere outside USA... cost me 50 bones to ship to Canada Fedex despite them saying they ship USPS and then 26$ brokerage... so my 99$ became 176$ in no time. At that point... get the new blackback scumback. :-/

Dave preferred the old Blackbacks (can't remember what cone though). He also used the Heritage H and said he didn't mind the anniversary model if it was well broken in.

What about WGS Invader vs Weber Legacy , all better than G12M ? Someone compare ??

I've got multiples of all three speakers, the webers are probably the best at the GB thing but for the money WGS invaders have my interest right now. Just put a set in my Stone Age 2X12C and to be honest WGS in on to some thing with these I love them and you can't beat the price!!!

Better sound than G12M ?

After some time with the Invaders I absolutly love these speaker! I've all ways sworn by Celestion GB's and still love them but these WGS Invaders have some thing different going on in the Mid's and to me are more agressive. I love them! Very much like the WGS GB's but higher wattage.
