Always loved their song The Middle, but have been lately listening to that Album and Futures a lot. Just amazing guitar tones and mixes for the non ballad tunes. What are some of your favorite guitar bands that you wouldn’t consider metal or traditional hard rock?

I was a huge fan of Jimmy Eat World back in the day, especially the album Clarity is a classic for me.

I remember when Metal was a dirty word in the 90’s and hearing Stars by Hum and hearing some blatant metal riffage in it and thinking OK, they can’t go in an interview and say that’s not metal! Lol Even though the 90’s had some great “heavy” music, I was so tired of bands saying they weren’t metal. When you knew they would rock out privately if metal came on. Apart from Pantera and a lot of European stuff, not many were flying the metal flag back then. But even the ones afraid to show their leather and studs over their polo’s and Chino’s made some pretty nice sounding records.
