I have a problem......I got spoiled with FX loops. Can't even think about putting time based fx in time front of the amp anymore......
That being said, just bought a Top Hat Emplexador (which I truly love) except I get a big drop in volume when the loop is engaged (one pedal, a bunch of pedals, long cords, short cords) I'm using Boss Delay, Boss Chorus pedals & some fulltone stuff. I had the same problem with my Egnater Mod 50 & most Bogners. I don't have that problem with my Cornford Hellcat ( & my old MK50) or my Reason SM50. Is there a solution that can be installed/modded internally without having to use outboard devices?
Thanks for listening !!!!

Pick up an Egnater Loop Gadget. Yeah, it's external, but you can use it with any amp's loop you ever have and it works like a charm.

I have an Emplex and I use the Fuchs Plush tube effects loop. Sounds pretty good. Got some control over the volume with it too as well as choice between series and parallel.

The real question should be : why are they putting half-assed effects loops in expensive amps to begin with ?

It may want line level effects not instrument level.
If you are using a boss twin effects like ce20 or dd20 make sure its set to line level.

Brian from TP don´t like effect loops, he´s more old school builder. Emplex is a killer amp w/o effect loop anyway ;)
