Anybody using one of these? I'm thinking of getting a Boogie Studio Preamp, as a backup to my .50Cal+ main rig, but I really liked the two Blackmores I had, wondering how the 530 compares to the Blackmore...

Second video is just the 570 into the sound card. He's not even using a poweramp.

I picked up a Engl 570 Special Edition Preamp yesterday  For heavy tones it and the Herbert are the best I have heard.

Check out this video as well with the same guy from above. Sounds killer to me with the 570 and the Savage blended together,

The 530 is great especially once you master the high mids, and treble controls. They are super interactive. Also if you put an EQ in the loop it can get sone massive sounds, on its own it is very tight in the low end.

Awesome preamp!!!!

For rythm I love mine. Can't get an awesome lead tone to suit my playing thought

Cool, Sounds like that may be the ticket, paired with a Boogie 2:90...how much are they going for used?

570 is $1500
530 is $500

I've had both, 570 is massive. Lots of different tones in there.

E530 at first glance is much more tame, but I think there are similar sounds in there, just needs to be matched with a killer power amp and (like GuitarGuyLP said) an EQ of some sort.
