Engl Blackmore Question

I some of you guys really like the Blackmore but how do you deal with all four channels sharing the same EQ? Does this cause problems in a live situation?
 
Most people will tell you it isn't a problem. It works a lot better than you would think having a shared EQ.

It does for me and that is why I just snagged an Invader 100. The Blackmore is a great amp but versatility on the fly is not its greatest attribute. The shared EQ isn't necessarily he problem but the shared gain is for me. It has a lot of tones in it and they are all really good but they aren't really accessible on the fly if you ask me. I still have mine and totally love the way it sounds but for my situation I needed something that had more options. :)

That was my guess. For dicking around the house or practice room tweaking the knobs is fine but in gigging situation it looks like it's real limited by it's features. Thanks for the in-put guys!

If all you need in a live situation is a good clean and a killer dirty tone then the Blackmore is awesome. With the contour and Master Volume switching that will get you through no prob. I just like the idea of a programmable fx loop and multiple gain channels. :)

Yeah, a good clean, good dirty and a good fx loop is all that I really need. That's why I'm contemplating the Legacy.

it's not as good as having them separate, obviously, but the channels all have their own voicing so it's not as bad as it first appears.

EDIT: yeah, i guess as killertone stated, the shared gains could be a problem too.
 
So do you guys think the blackmore would benefit in on the fly versatility from having another row of knobs?

If you want another row of knobs, get a Savage 120. IMO the most simple and straightforward Engl's sound a lot better than the ones with 30 knobs and 500 different options.

Nah, like I said, I don't think the shared EQ is that big a deal. I think the amp would benefit immensely from a separate gain control for ch 3 and 4. :)

i disagree, my savage se and the se both sound at least as good as the blackmore and have a million knobs. I do like the blackmore too, though.

EDIT: and the screamer doesn't sound half as good and has way fewer knobs.
