Can anyone who has owned , or currently owns a Engl 2x12 pro series cabinet give me some feedback?

How do they sound? Are you happy with it , etc.

I've been eyeing them but no stores around carry them. They seem to be solidly made. I'd use it with a high gain head....Dual Rec , PV 5150 , etc

Thank you in advance!

Imo, it's the best V30 cab out there. Tight but full sounding with great focus. Sounds better than most 4x12's. The V30 upper mid spike is smoothed out by the cab.

I'm no Engl expert but what Fuego said sums it up pretty good. If not the best 2x12 cab for Metal, it's up there with the best. It will always stay tight no matter how much low end you will throw at it, it will ad a nice sizzle to your distortion and make you're sound cut like a knife . It sound great with the amps you want to use it with.

Agree

Thank you guys!

So, no need to be worried about a harsh top end with the metal grill or the V30 speaker?

Thanks for your help!

Nop, not at all. But you will be heard in you're band for sure!
Engl got it right with that cab, it has a undeniable aggressiveness in the mids that is awesome.

Sounds good!

Thanks Chris!

I played Dual Rectifier through ENGL 2x12 Pro next to Orange 2x12 and 5150 next to Orange 4x12.
Recto sounded more aggressive and tighter through ENGL.

With 5150 the differences were pretty much the same as any 4x12 vs 2x12. 2x12 is more directional and not as full-sounding.
Nevertheless it sounded great.

I played also Marshall VM through it and I liked it better than through its matching cab. It sounded tighter and more modern.

I swapped one of the V30's for C90 and I'm really happy with the outcome.
It's a good cab and well made. It may sound harsh but you just need to adjust your treble and presence.
The last time I played ENGL E520 preamp + Masotti Slave 100 through it and it sounded huge and tight. Not boomy or muddy at all.
I'm really happy with it and would love to compare it to Zilla 2x12 Fatboy.

I have a pair of Engl Pro E212VHB cabs. As mentioned above, very clear, very tight sounding; solid build; heavy for a 2x12 IMO.

I use these with an Engl E530 pre and E850/100, one cab per side.

I've been using modelers for the last several years, but this rig isn't going anywhere.

Yea... I believe shipping weight is 72lbs.

Are the cabs front loaded? I believe they are , which is why they're very tight and
like a laser beam as far as projection goes. I'm hoping the description of clarity isn't
mistranslated as there's a possibility of them being bright cabs. Something you can't dial out,
unfortunately. Maybe I'll take a chance and order one that has a return policy for approval.

Guys, thank you again for chiming in. Great to get so much feedback and input!

Yes, they are front loaded and the weight is correct as well.

I forgot to mention that Engl cabs are heavy. It's smaller but heavier than the Mesa cab I had.both had v30's. They are built very solid.52kg or 116.4lbs.

52kg is the weight of 4x12 cab

I mean, of course if you set the presence and treble very high it can be harsh as most cab. But if the EQ is set properly you should be ok. I played some cabs that i couldn't dial out the harshness, it's not an issue with this cab at least for me.

Tone is very subjective and it's all about combination of things. Woods of guitar, pickups, tuning, amp, cab and speakers.
