A local dude is wanting to trade me an uberschall for my fireball + cash. Assuming the uberschall is in as good of condition as my Fireball (absolutely mint), how much cash you guys think is fair?

I'm also an uberschall noob, never really looked into them since they were always outside my price range. Whats the deal with the different revisions?

I'm also looking for a description of the sound, I've seen it described as dark and lots of bass, is that accurate?

Bogner Uberschall over the Engl Fireball
all day long....in my book.
I like the latest Revision "Blue"
seems to have more of a Brighter Tone.
The Uber sings very well, it can be an awesome lead amp
if dialed in that way. It can also be a Metal "Killer" if dialed
that way also. Here's a clip I did a while back with the Uber,
dialed in for a Crisp Lead sound. I was just aimlessly Noodling,
trying to get the Amp to scream. Remember, "It's all in how you Dial It"

You're lucky I didn't skip right past your post and oogle and the Tig 'Ol Bitties in your sig. :D

That was some bitching lead playing, tone sounded great too.

I always have problems with those kind of vids though, its really easy to make the amp sound amazing and really easy to make it sound awful and either way it still wouldn't reflect how the amp actually plays and feels.

*Edit, I scrolled up right back to your sig after making this post. Those titties need some motorboat action, NOW.

I love both the Uber and the fireball. I think the Fireball is better if you want a really tight, brutal saturated/compressed tone. I think the uber is better if you want the same thing but with more sag and a thumping low-end.

There is a new 100W version Fireball and a new revision KT-88 Uber coming out this year. Personally, I'd wait for either one of these instead.

Keep in mind I'm not going to be buying an Uberschall brand new, in fact if the dude wants much more than 500 bucks + my fireball then I'm sticking with my fireball regardless.

I think this was the setting on CH.2 with a little Bit more Gain.

Finally, someone who knows how to setup an Uberschall :) Presence, Treble, and to a slightly lesser extent, Mid, MUST be set high IMO.

Stick with the Fireball. It is a beter sounding amp and you'll save money.

As amps (especially "hi-gain" amps) are vastly different tastes, care to qualify that statement?
