I have an Keeley SD-1 and purchased a Spark Boost and EP Booster. I gave them the Pepsi challenge through my Splawn Pro Stock and my Randall RD-1 played out front, not in the loop.

My findings...

EP Booster: great boost, very tansparent, has a lot of girth, has lots of boost available, seemed a bit woofy and kept the bass, but seemed a bit too much than I liked.

TC Spark Boost: great boost, more versatile, I could get very near exact sound with it as I could with the EP boost. loved the 3 modes on it and I could year the differences under high gain. It was great to be able to dial in more or less bass. I loved it as an OD when using the "mid" setting. Transparent. For some reason, didn't seem to have the same amount of "oomph" as the EP without using the Gain and Level together.

Keeley SD-1: good OD pedal. Not good as a clean boost. Could get some amazing sustain using this as an OD boost. Definitely added more compression and seemed to thin out the tone more than I wanted. It was good to finally compare this as an OD the other boosts.

In sum: TC Spark was my favorite. I'm going to sell the Keeley SD-1 and return the EP Boost. TC is way more versatile and I could get near exactly the same desired results in the TC that I could get from the SD-1 and EP. ...BUT, the TC Spark Boost does cost more than the others. For my application, playing hard rock and early metal and some blues, the TC was the keeper.

I have the TC Spark Mini and at 50 bucks is a killer little pedal, not to mention extremely simple with a single dial!

I have the TC Spark Mini as well. Great little pedal.
