I found this NOS Les Paul Modern online in graphite black last week. It travelled 3,300 kms from the other side of the country and arrived today!

This is a "new old stock" original series colour which has been hard to find and it's dated 2022. Plastic was still on the pickguard & pickups! Flawless brand new condition.

It plays and sounds great and was almost still in tune after the FedEx journey.

I tried to capture what the finish hides out of the sun, it's an amazing colour that looks deceivingly plain at first glace, but then really pops and surprises you when in the right light.

Mahogany body w/maple cap
Ebony fretboard
Locking tuners w/ tulip pegs
Asymmetrical slim tapered neck
Carved out neck heel
Medium jumbo frets
Probucker pickups w/ split coil and phase
Weight relieved body
Kalamazoo headstock
Tusq nut

These Probuckers sound better that the last set I had. These seem hotter so I think those were the PB1&2 and these are PB2&3. They sound more like a Gibson 498T set.
I also like that these earlier models came with a pickguard because the past few colour series runs do not.

The weight relieved body is a god send, I only stand when I play and I've grown to love a lighter, more airy and resonant feeling and sounding body.

Nice man, congrats! Loving that paint job!!

I recall mentioning how much I enjoyed the Probucker II and III in my Sheraton in your previous thread. Epiphone pickups that don't need to be changed!

What's the asymmetrical slim taper neck feel like?

Honestly, I'm still adjusting to it. The top or low E side has meat to it which fills into your palm and under your thumb. But the bottom or high E side has less meat under your fingers so your access is slightly less obstructed. The back of the neck is slim tapered like a C shape and suitable for planting a thumb if need be.
I'm used to having more or equal meat under my fingers so single note runs & licks feel a little different to execute for now.
