The one on the top is a cool amp. A made in Germany, Hughes & Kettner Statesman Dual EL34 head. It's the third H&K that I've owned and there is certainly a common thread tonally among them. Solid amp with a very nice clean. But it had its new amp day month ago. Now for the main event:

The bottom one is what makes this an Epic New Amp Day! I've had Bogner cabs for about 5 years now but, never a head. I've kind of wanted an Ecstacy 101B with the A/AB option for oh, I don't know, 8 or 9 years ;)

Well I finally did it. I traded a GREAT guitar (one I had 2 of) plus some cash and finally brought home a 101B.

Okay, so chime in anyone who knows these things. Does the loop/loop LED on the footswitch turn on and off with nothing patched into it? Or does something have to be patched in for the loop to be engaged?

Awesome! There's a 101B for sale locally for $1700 and I'm so close to buying it just because of that price...
 
Owned a 101b years ago. Lot's of sweet tone inside.. Congrats and enjoy.
 
Would've taken a used one with the A/AB option but haven't seen one in a little while. This is my first time buying a big money amp new so don't give me heart attack saying things like that! If you're talking about a pristine example with the class switching for that price, I'll go jump off a bridge! Don't these things sell for like $2,400-$2,600 used with the A/AB?
 
Great amp. There's nothing quirky about the loop if you're thinking it's like the old Shiva's were.

Let me rephrase, if I do not have anything plugged into the loop, will the footswitch light turn on if I select it with my foot? Or will the light on the footswitch only go on if you have an effect plugged into the effects loop?

Wow, the H&K kind of has the same look as that 101.
Very cool NAD!
 
The loop light should definitely come on regardless if anything is in the loop or not..
