Epic new band discovery...

New to me anyway. A friend showed them to me tonight and it blew me away;





 
Wow thats some awsome music! Im listening to the first clip right now and i really like. Are they well known or is it a small underground band?
 
These guys are from Buffalo, NY which is where I live too. They are actually recording in the Goo Goo Dolls studio which Ive done stuff at as well (great studio btw). Anyway, most of them are from a band called This Day & Age. They used to be a pop band but then changed when they put out the album "the bell and hammer." I absolutely love that album but they broke up not too long after it came out. The new stuff as the reign of kindo I cant get into. Yes, they can all play but its too busy. Too much going on, the songs really arent there for me. Nice to see some local guys getting some attention here the boards though.

My band did some tracks at that studio which ill be posting soon to show how nice that place is.

Very impressive. Interesting how busy the pianist and drummer are in the first vid, but it never really sounds like anyone is stepping on each others toes.
 
awesome stuff, sounds like indie noodlefest with big pop sensibility

kinda 90day men, clair de lune, desert city soundtrack but with more influences in it

I like it, its busy, but cool. Everyone has a different part that make up a central melody. The keys guy does some great stuff

I've known about these guys for about a year now. I think they're pretty awesome :)

do they have an album out?
 
Watched the first vid for 30 seconds...sounded a lot like Muso wanking...so I turned it off :shrug:

Are you serious !? I was blown away when i heard it yesterday...its not like its wanking like EVH...i mean, theres some soul and melody in those songs..i dont think they are overdoing it.
 
I didn't like it either. For some reason the singer reminded me of that Michael Buble dude....can't stand that MotherFucker. :)
