Dude is just a riff writing machine, Testaments newest cd is just awesome, having Skolnick back in the band is just icing in the cake!!!

 I agree on all points

I do wonder if his Rock House DVD is ever going to come out though :gethim:

Eric is my biggest influence. He is the backbone along with chuck of testament. Been a die hard since the beginning. Eric is far underrated as testament is. Even when Skolnick left testament riffage actually got even better. Dàrker heavier thicker more brutal than ever. Low, and the gathering are master pieces.
Formation was a killer return n dark roots just blows my mind. Just saw them in jersey couple weeks ago !!!! Testament is like wine better with age !!!

House of blues in A.C. with Anthrax and Death Angel?

I was at that show on the 6th sadly only Chuck and Skolnick sounded good
The rest was a garbled bassy mess of sludge

Check out a band called "Dragonlord." Eric Peterson's Melodic Black Metal project. Good stuff. The first album "Rapture" kills.

Huge EP and Testament fan here since day one. Was rocking Legacy in 9th grade. New stuff is also killer. Gotta also say that Chuck Billy is a hell of a vocalist. Love his style and tone. Got to open for them years ago in Dallas at the Canyon Club which was very cool.

Dragonlord eh. That's a diff cup of tea. No chuck ,,, chuck n Eric are like peanut butter n jelly.

Eric Peterson is extremely underrated!!! His riffs destroy most other thrash bands riffs especially in the last 10-15 years!!!   Testament has been and currently is my favorite thrash band and I have seen them a few times recently since Alex rejoined and they kicked ass every time.

Love Testament!! My very first compact disk I ever purchased (1989) was the 'Practice What You Preach' disk. I have loved them ever since. The riffs are huge and simply put.....everything they do just works!

One thing i dislike on later Testament albums is that there are no ballads. All of their slower songs were/are killer. Makes me a bit sad.
Doesn't change the fact that EP is a killer player though :)

Agreed, Peterson is a riff machine, especially the latest stuff:rock:

Hetfield could learn a thing or two from the man these days.

Did u listen to dark roots ? Cold embrace is a killer ballad. As is dark roots a heavy grind type ballad.

hey how about legendary james murphey? his leads are so much soulful than alex imo...i like that live in fillmore...james u rule !

Low is definitely one of the best metal albums ever. no doubt about it. been a fan pre-practice (new order?)

and hell yea, Eric's rhythm's are the best in metal, imo... and I'd have to even say he is the king of groove, metal style of course. I've always wished I could be that awesome lol

james was absolutely brilliant on Low. he was good on the gathering, but not nearly as good imo. felt like he fell back on his death metal roots too much and the solos didn't have the "correct" flow (whatever that is) and didn't really say as much. hard to describe, but that's my best right now :D
